KHUZDARThree employees of a non-governmental organization (NGO) were kidnapped by unknown men in Khuzdar, the center of Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

The kidnappers also took custody of the vehicle of the NGO employees. One of the employees was released by the kidnappers shortly and the other two were taken to an unknown location.

On Friday, three employees of the NGO Human Action for Rural Deployment (HARD) visited an under construction school in Gresha locality of Tehsil Naal. On their way back from the inspection visit, their vehicle was intercepted by kidnappers.

Mehboob Qambrani, Tehseeldar of Naal has confirmed the kidnapping incident of three NGO employees. A levies team has been formed and sent to search for the kidnappers and captives in the nearby areas, added Mr. Qambrani.

It must be noted that kidnapping for ransom is a lucrative business in restive province of Balochistan. NGO workers are often the target of kidnappers because they believe that a hefty ransom amount can be fetched from NGOs for the release of their workers.

In a separate incident, Abdul Hameed, an activist of Balochistan National Party was kidnapped by unknown men in Panjgur district yesterday.
